The Internatinal Symposium on Superconductivity(ISS)

国際超電導シンポジウム(ISS)実行委員会

The International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS) was launched back in 1988 after the discovery of copper-oxide-based high temperature superconductors. Since then, it has been held annually with more than 400 participants from all over the world sharing their most recent research results and exchanging innovative ideas about superconductivity. Topics ranging from fundamental science to novel applications are covered and thus the symposium offers great opportunities to build links between academics and industry. The ISS is committed to excellence in its program by inviting the world’s leading experts in the Physics and Chemistry(PC), Wires and Bulk(WB), Electronic Devices(ED), and Large Scale Applications(AP) fields of superconductivity.

We have great news that the management structure of the International Superconductivity Symposium (ISS) will be renewed from January 2024. The ISS has been hosted by National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) from 2016 to 2023. From 2024, more autonomous operations by scientific community will begin under a new manegement structure. A new board (ISS-Board) is established for this purpose, and Professor Hiroyuki Ohsaki, the University of Tokyo, has been appointed as the first chairperson of the board. The ISS will continue to contribute to the development and spread of superconducting technology together with everyone in the society. We look forward to your continued support.$00A0

We are pleased to start for inviting you for the 37th International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS2024) organized by the Board of International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS-Board).$00A0 The symposium will be held face to face on December November 3-5, 2024 at Kanazawa Bunka Hall, Kanazawa, Japan. Prof. Hiroyuki Ohsaki, The University of Tokyo will also chair the ISS2024 (iss2024.jp).
