Abstract Body

This talk will focus on motivation for incorporating a multi-MW class power train in next generation of zero and net-zero carbon emission aircrafts. It will be presented in two parts (a) understanding the needs and challenges in accomplishing an extremely efficient and power dense electric power train which includes cryogenically cooled and superconducting components and (b) emerging zero and net-zero aviation cryogenic fuels, decarbonization options and metrics, their environmental impact, energy and storage needs, thermal management, and improved thermal and propulsive efficiencies. The talk will showcase RTX’s perspective on these emerging technologies.
