In the practical application of REBCO bulk magnets, it is important to simplify magnetization as well as to increase the magnetic field. As the Jc of the bulk has increased, magnetization has become more difficult with the pulsed-field magnetization (PFM), in which a magnetic field is applied to a sample in a superconducting state. We have proposed a method of intentionally degrading superconducting properties by fabricating small poles in a sample and allowing magnetic flux to penetrate through them, and have confirmed the effectiveness of this method. Also, we paid attention to the soft-iron yoke used in PFM and confirmed that the cross-shaped yoke improves the magnetizing efficiency. In this paper, we attempt to improve the trapped field performance by PFM using a cross-shaped yoke in a holed REBCO bulk.
